Bablu Rai is now receiving regular and adequate medical treatment at a local hospital for injuries caused by torture.
He was reportedly transferred from the Banke District Police Station to the Banke District Prison on 3 June, where he is believed to be no longer at risk of torture.
Amnesty International is continuing to monitor his situation.
